USEFUL INFORMATION

Venue
The meeting will be hold at Centre Esplai, headquarters of Esplai Foundation, located in El Prat de Llobregat, only 5 min away from Barcelona airport. In the same building there is the hostel, the canteen and the lecture rooms for the event.

Accomodation
All participants will stay in single rooms at the youth hostel (How to get there?).

To check in, you must go to the hostel reception at the main entrance of the building and give your name. Once you’ve checked in, the receptionist will give you the welcoming folder (it contains information about Barcelona and surroundings) and the tickets you will need for meals (lunch and dinner) at the canteen. You don’t need any tickets for breakfast.


The timetable for meals at the canteen is as follows:
• Breakfast: 8.00h till 10.00h
• Lunch: 13.30h till 15.30h
• Dinner: 20.00h till 22.00h.

During meeting days, 27th to 30th, meals will be served at the times fixed in the meeting agenda within the canteen opening hours.
If some of the members have meal preferences or considerations (vegetarian, Muslim), please let us know. We will be pleased to take care of this.

Airport transport
Esplai Foundation is organizing a pick-up & transport service for all participants arriving at Barcelona airport.

Daily substance allowance
Participants who're receiving IDRC grants will be reimbursed for costs for visa, health insurance…
There is no airport tax in Barcelona. If so, please, let us know.

Share point
During the event there will be a sharing point available in a lecture room for sharing information and leaving distribution material gadgets, leaflets, photos or anything you may want to share with the other participants.

Sightseeing & weather forecast
As you may know, Barcelona is located in the Autonomous region of Catalonia (northeast of Spain). The city is facing the nice and blue Mediterranean Sea and the climate is usually moderated. We don’t really have cold and snowy winters here, the temperature lately goes around 12ºC – 3ºC (max – min). Check the weather forecast (Spanish)

Centre Esplai is located relatively close to the beach, still it takes 15 mints by car.

CENTRE ESPLAI

TRAIN (RENFE) from Barcelona
It takes between 15 to 30 minutes from any train station in Barcelona to El Prat de Llobregat station.

You can take 2 trains:
Line C2. From Barcelona to Sant Vicenç de Calders - Vilanova i la Geltrú.
Line C1. From Barcelona to the airport.

Then, from El Prat de Llobregat station, you can take the bus to Sant Cosme area. Centre Esplai is just nearby.

Bus numbers 65 and 165: From Plaça d'Espanya in Barcelona to Centre Esplai
