Event Description

ICT4D is an international conference focusing on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) innovation and impact for developing countries. It provides a unique forum where academic and economic actors of the developing world can meet and exchange. The conference is organized by the SAP/Meraka UTD in Pretoria South Africa in collaboration with CREATE-NET (Italy). The research field covering ICT and development is fairly broad and includes among others the following themes:

* Communication and hardware
o Wireless, ad-hoc, meshed, etc. networks
o Mobile-based computing
o Policies for communication access development
o Sensor networks / alert systems
o Networking and computing in challenged environment
* Business
o ICT for micro/small businesses

As much as i believe that Information and communication Technology has contributed to massive development in Ghana, i would have wish to to participate and share how my country has use ICT as a tool in areas like Banking, Insurance, Mobile Telecommunication, Education development.

i have just started telecentre in kimberley norther cape south africa it is a great expeince for me eventhough we encounter operational problems but it is worth to be part of this movement. please if any one has some infor regarding financial grant or donation email me morena as we ca not be acttivey involved as e nedede to cause we want to do school campaign next month whicih is june 2009, we are faced with financial constraings to excute th programmess.

Good opportunity to se2 f2f actual work done at grassroots level. as have been getting update (online) abt African ICT4D revolution , much before Indian and other South Asian initiaives.
