we all discuss and implement so many programes for TeleCentres but most of the time we forget the very important thing, which is very essential to introduce ICT4rural communities in such countries. it is VIC means Village Information Centres. i am very interested in working with VICs. so....i would like to add this topic for further discussion of all to get some ideas..........
- how can we develop VICs?
- why it is important?
- how can villagers contribute their support to VICs?
- why does VIC important to your country to introduce ICT4rural?
- what were your plans to do it?
To jump start this duscussion by sharing on why it would be important to have the VICs. Village Information Centres (VICs) can help provide villagers with educational classes as well as employment opportunities. It can guide the students in choosing their careers and show them ways of achieving them. With the coming of ICT in villages through VIC and the opening of new employment opportunities, lessen migration to urban areas thus retaining intelligent minds in villages who can plan the further development.
Modern technologies of ICT and telecentres
are very helpful for both men and women. But
it may be more useful to learn the actual
status of efficacy for the development of
societies through the telecentre related
technologies.
Agriculture is the source of food, feed, fibre and fuel for the mankind and domestic animals.Telecentres are becoming helpful for the human efforts to secure the necessary produces for the survival
of the peoples around the world.
Telecentres are providing immense services to the promotion of education.Students of all disciplines and societies use the various services of telecentres for their assignments and communications. We may highlight educational activities in this group.
