I congratulate Reham for expressing her valuable observation on the contribution and prospect of agriculture.Agriculture is supporting the human civilization through supplying food, feed, fibre and fuel for the human and domestic animals. This is the largest known sector for employment. Most industries and businesses still rely on agriculture for their sustenance. If agriculture performs well rest of the enterprises will perform well.
I hope the learned members will contribute topics on agricultural practices in relation to telecentres so that newer opportunities come to surface.

Dear All,

I love to join the group because I believe that developing new methods of agriculture will help poor and needy persons to at least find the main food sources with cheap prices. It will also offer youth new vacancies and create many opportunities for SMEs.
I wish that we can cooperate and exchange ideas and experiences to develop our communities.

It will be helpful for our farmers to have latest information on agricultural production and business related technologies in bengali which they can understand easily. We should start some efforts to make available the information on web based knowledge repository on agriculture information.

The Philippine Community eCenter (CeC) Program will take part in the conduct of the Development and Delivery of Training Tools on the Use of ICTs for Promotion of Livelihood for Women in Rural Area project, in partnership with the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and the Asia Pacific Women’s Information Network Center (APWINC). Bato Community eCenter in Sto. Nino, Leyte has been identified as the pilot site for this project.

The project has begun the information gathering and initial assessment of the project site last October 21 and 22. The gathered information will be utilized in the development of the training tools which are expected to be deployed in December 2009.

The project aims to promote the access and use of ICT and CeCs as vehicles for improving the social and economic conditions of women in rural areas in the Philippines, through the development and implementation of training tools that will promote their local livelihood.

The developed training tools will eventually be replicated in other CeCs in the country.
