Egypt to Host Sixth Investing in Technology Forum
MCIT Egypt
Egypt is hosting the sixth Investing in Technology Forum due to be held from 12-14 May, 2009 under the auspices of Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Nazif.
The forum is organized by Arab Science and Technology Foundation (ASTF) in cooperation with Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), Nile University and Abdu-Latif Jameel Community Service Programs.
The international event will bring together entrepreneurs, technology leaders, corporate CEOs, venture capitalists, angel investors and leading investment and financial institutions in a bid to stimulate further investments in emerging technology and startup companies in the Arab World.
The meeting is expected to include presentations of the different programs in venture capital investments and third party support and social responsibility programs by major multinational corporations in the region.
In addition to the regular conference sessions and workshops, the forum will organize a “Private Investors-Entrepreneurs Matchmaking” session, gathering a panel of investors from different Arab countries and startup companies to issue a list of “Top 10 startups Ready for Investment.”
This year’s forum will also organize, for the first time, a “Startups Demo Exhibition,” which is a great opportunity for Arab startup companies to present their achievements and expansion plans to investors and potential partners looking for new investment opportunities.
The previous forums were held in Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Amman Jordan.
Headquartered in the UAE, with offices in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, and USA, ASTF is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization supporting excellence and innovation in scientific research and technology entrepreneurship in the Arab World.
