About Me (biography and organization description)

A PhD Candidate in Information Science and Technology at the Syracuse University iSchool, New York USA. I got my Masters in International Agriculture and Rural Development from Cornell University, Ithaca New York USA in 2004. Prior to the masters program, I worked as extension/development officer for 4 years at the northern deprived regions of Ghana after my BSc. Agriculture degree from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana in 1998.
I am currently exploring the role of the new information and communication technologies (ICTs) in facilitating communication between research, extension and farming. Currently trying to understanding the existing modes, patterns and media of communication between these key stakeholders in the agricultural sector in Ghana.
I am also working on ways to utilize the new ICTs in identifying, documenting, disseminating and utilizing farmers' local innovations in research and also among other farmers.
