Take my cordially love . I am Bangladeshi and a computer engineer After my graduation I have setup an organization in our rural area for computer teaching and all necessary information I am giving by internet . Our people is poor they can not bear expanse of this project basically this is a rural ICT project .Now I need some fund for expend this project otherwise this project will be closed . Uganda: Public Universities Get Dutch ICT Funds

THE Netherlands government has provided 5.7m Euros (about sh13b) to boost the development of information and communication technology in four public universities in the country.

Makerere, Mbarara, Kyambogo and Gulu universities will benefit from the project dubbed 'strengthening ICT training and research capacity'.

Telecentre curbs HIV/AIDS stigmatisation in Uganda

Support on Aids and Life through Telephone helpline (SALT) is a centre through which People Living With HIV/Aids (PLHAs) are counseled and guided online.

The telecentre that was formed in 2003 by Uganda Aids Commission under the National Forum for PLHAs Networks in Uganda (NAFOPHANU) caters for PLHAs under stigmatization, as well as those that are too sick and therefore cannot reach health centres.

Bytes for Development Award competitions on

Following its inauguration in June 2008 at the 5th EATLF in Sudan, the Bytes for Development Award (B4DAward) has attracted telecentre practitioners from the East, Central and Southern Africa.

The award is managed by UgaBYTES in partnership with telecentre.org and East African Telecentre National Networks including KenTel, TTN, BCTN, and RTN. It aims to stimulate and strengthen online telecentre community to progressively improve the telecentre body of knowledge in Africa.

Are telecentres simply big dreams of science?

It’s a hot afternoon as I approach Nakaseke sub-county headquarters in Nakaseke District, Uganda. This is the location of a telecentre that has come to play a very vital role in the lives of the local community.
