Hello Niranjan, thank you. Yes, agreed. But a wiki can give us the tool to move forward and bring along newcomers and grass roots champions who are looking for structure. This structure is to nurture innovation in all of the categories. Looking forw…

Call for Collaborators for Sustainable Telecenter Global Challenge

I am seeking some members of this community who would be interested in collaborating on a global challenge to create the Sustainable Telecenter. I am proud to be partnering with the Global Challenge Award and to add Sustaining Telecenters as a challenge that needs to be addressed and recognized.
Our strategy is to leverage the immersive internet--virtual worlds and web 2.0--for facilitating innovation and entrepreneurs… Continue

Combine Telecenters and Eco-toruism

A recent article in 3DTLC-- 3D Training, Learning and Collaboration reported:
“Lauren Papworth, a social networking strategist, told the Australian Tourism Futures conference that travelers will increasingly use virtual worlds to help plan their next vacation according to the Brisbane Times. The talk was targeted at the Australian tourism community, but has relevance to the… Continue

Emergence in Innovations

This is an excellent example of an emergent use of technology and attitude waiting for the BoP to get on board:

From Inventor Shawn Frayne

from :http://www.worldchanging.com/archives/010063.html

"The opinion I have, and the opinion of the others that I work with, is that there’s a huge untapped brain resource in developing countries. When designers or inventors have a different set of constraints, and they’re clever, there’s going to be great inventions and innovations that come out of those… Continue

Immersion in Design Science as a Wealth Creation Strategy Using Web 2.0 in Telecenters

There has been some interesting discussions lately about Human Computer Interaction. After all, isn’t that what much of ICT is? Or is it? Another way to think about it is ‘computer augmented interaction.’ This is where the virtual, the electronic, merge and begin a dialogue effecting us as we effect our created world. No place is this as profound and powerful as in the area of design. The steps from dreaming and imagination, to rendering and drawing, to inhabiting in 3 dimensions, and then innov… Continue

A Vision for jump starting a "teaching/Learning" Economy with a formalized Telecenter Certification

Here is a project I am working on, and it came up with an interesting take on creating a knowledge economy. What is the value Proposition in a Knowledge Economy? You could call it a "Teacher/Learner Economy." Simply stated the drive to gain good employment as a Teacher/Facilitator of 21st Literacy's will help pay for the Teachers/facilitators that will be needed. This is scaled up through virtual eLearning and ubiquitous free wireless broadband and low cost, low wattage wireless computers. The c… Continue

Jan, thanks for connecting. Why are you interested in telecentres? Do you have a connection to international development? Tell me more about Johnson College if you wish. Meanwhile I'll look up your college website.

Many thanks Jan. I am looking for as much content as possible to demonstrate the information dissemination power of video and iPTV. I shall in due course be sending to all those responding to my message a business plan, which we can then amend and form to fit all our needs. This project should be looked at as a participative partnership.

Dear Jan,
I am very sorry for responding to your comment after about four days.In fact,I got puzzled to answer on so many specific topics.
Lastly,I thought that some kind of apologetical submission might be helpful for now atleast.
I felt that a sense of concern had been reflected in your comment. The scenario you presented in the context of US agriculture is also prevailing in Bangladesh to some extent. The free market economy, globalization and politico-econmic arrangements have made the countries close neighbours. The products available for US consumers may also be availble in other countries of the world.GMO,pollution, pesticide, chemicals are the common curses everywhere. There are thus many initiatives here for preventing or getting rid of those curses for many years .However,it is very difficult (for me atleast)to inform the extent of sustainable agriculture being practiced here. But,Ilike to assert that concerted efforts are taken to prevent or reverse all the evil. The level of awareness among the media and the educated peoples is pretty high. So,governmental intervention
enjoys popular support. Please let me know if you find this general statement useful. We may share more on this later.
By the by,I am considering that you may open a new group in telecentre.org related to education.Your long experience and mastery in education might be very relevant for managing such important group. However, this is just my personal feeling. You may kindly have a thoughtful consideration.
Kind regards,
Zainul
