Hello Morena, there is alot that can be done to solve the problems you highlighted in your comment.
First and foremost, there is need to create awareness of these telecentres. By this i mean to the telecentre operators and managers. This is imperative as it teaches them the valuve of telecentres to them as individuals and to the whole community.
This can be done through advocacy. Once people understand the value of telecentres i.e social and economic empowerment, they appreciation and participation as regards telecentre activities will increase.
To ensure sustainability, telecentres have to go beyond the issue of internet connectivity and offer other value added activities like
secretarial services e.g photocopying, faxing, telephony, community outreach programs etc.
These help rise funds that can be used to sustain telecentre projects with in and outside the CeCs.
As Francis has mentioned, open sources servies are also good as far as fighting computer viruses is concerned. You get in touch with him and he will explain this further.
NOTE; for more advise, do you mind starting this as a discussion in the forum section? I am sure lots of people out there have good advice for these issues. I can be of help in case you are interested in pursing this further.
If this system is introduced to rural areas i think standard of living will slightly transitioned. This is due to ICT technology which is implied in currently. I support your project please introduce it and wealth will be created in our communities.
