About Me (biography and organization description)
I am a researcher at Shinyalu Community Telecentre situated in Shinyalu Division, Kakamega District,of Western Province in Kenya. The Centre was started with an aim of searching, acquiring, creating knowledge/ information, repackaging and disseminating it to the smallholder population. this was with the fact they felt marginalized economically, socially, financially and that media like internet, Fm Radio, TV broadcasts were specifically meant for the elites in urban centres.
So far, all the appropriate media have been set and are already up and running save for FM radio which is just awaiting frequency from the Communication Commision of Kenya and it is hinted to be in the final stages. We have managed to launch a Newsletter for the centre known as "ukulima" (farming) which keeps the readers abreast with farming information.
Much more is on the ground and we will share including radio scripts.
