As a youth-led organization, Young Power in Social Action (YPSA), with the support of Action Aid Bangladesh, organizes an annual Youth Camp to increase young peoples’ awareness on social development issues and encourage them to take on leadership roles within their communities. This year YPSA organized the 2nd National Youth Camp specifically with participation of youth with disabilities on 21-23 December 2008 in Sitakunda. Participants included 20 young people with disabilities (representing 10 organizations) from Chittagong and Dhaka, as well as 2 international volunteers with YPSA. Several issues were discussed such as disability & equality, volunteerism & development, UNCRPD, communication and leadership, disaster & disability, function not disability, information & communication technology, rights of women with disabilities, role of youth in development and young people & HIV/AIDS.
