The new journey to build a Digital Bangladesh, a social enterprise called ‘Info (BD) Next/iBdNext’ arranged a Digital festival ‘do4D (digital opportunity for development): the reality show’ at Community Access Point, Vullar Haat, Khanshama, Dinajpur on March 26-27, 2009.

The main purpose of the festival was to let the village people know about digital world and its benefits. Do4D festival was place, where rural root people had the opportunity to know about latest technology and benefits. Here, local people showed unlimited interest to attend the festival. Participants got the access to use computer/laptop, Internet, mobile phones VAS functions, learning movie show, digital word processing contest etc. In addition, they got practical experiences to use available government/private
eServices through Internet and mobile phone.

There were 2,500(+) people including local key personnel, government staff, students, teachers, farmers, labors, house wife, children, journalists and researchers attended the two days’ festival. The first do4d festival was a field-test to examine the feasibility of an ICT enabled fair in rural village. The responses from rural community show that there is high demand for a festival like do4D. Specialty, this do4D festival can play a vital role to promote telecentre type business and current eServices to the rural people. Thus, do4D is start-up to reach our goal ‘Digital Bangladesh Next’.
