Shri Kapil Sibal, Union Minister of Human Resource Development, today launched web portals of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and National Board of Accreditation (NBA) at URL://www.aicte-india.org and URL://www.nba-india.org respectively today. This initiative is part of the AICTE’s efforts to bring in transparency, accountability, efficiency and swiftness in its decision-making process. Bharti Airtel Ltd. may sign an agreement to buy 70 percent of Bangladesh’s Warid Telecom during Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visit to India next week, Press Trust of India reported, citing unidentified people. Details of the transaction are being worked out and a deal may be signed on Jan. 12, the news agency said. Malaysia considers UK e-learning platform

Malaysia is studying a radical British e-learning method to help 'leapfrog' the learning and teaching system in schools, said deputy prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, reports The Star. He expressed interest in the Frog Learning Platform which could be customised for Malaysian schools as part of overall efforts to further raise the standard of education.
